Man, my morning routine is SO important to my productivity.
I’m not sure exactly when that happened, but it’s true. If I let myself get distracted and go off the rails in the morning, I have a really, reeeaalllyyy hard time getting myself back on track.
That happened today. It sucked, but here we are. I’m going to write over the weekend. That’s what my extra days are for, along with rest, and I’m going to make sure I get that, too. And, you know what it really makes me think? I can combat that, actually. I can figure out a routine to go through whenever my morning is disrupted. That, too, can be conquered. I’m going to spend some time thinking about that.
The other huge part of it was that I was tired. It’s been a long week. It’s not an excuse. It’s simply a factor. Writing requires a lot of focus and a lot of energy in order to be “effortless” and “fun”…and for reals, that is the ONLY time the writing is any good, so I’m not being facetious there…and sometimes I have more energy than others. I didn’t have much today to fight the entropy.
But, that’s why our lord and savior baby g gave us tomorrow.
I also got in a stupid fight on twitter today over baseball, and when I say stupid, I mean stupid on my part; I never should have gotten involved. It didn’t get ugly, or anything. It just wasn’t positive. It wasn’t constructive. It existed only to create anger and feed insecurity…
Believe it or not, I *rarely* have those interactions online. I’m usually very good at either being positive and level-headed, or just staying above and ignoring the fray completely. Not today. It won’t happen again, though…at least not for a while.
So, yeah…today was a bit of a frustrating day. A sour note to end such a wonderful week on. BUT…the week is not over. I still have tomorrow and Sunday to rally around. So, rally I will.
Speaking of rallies…the A’s came from behind to beat the Astros tonight. It was probably the best game we’ve played this year, at least in how it ended. The most exciting. Our *biggest* win. Tied it in the bottom of the 9th. Won it in the bottom of the 10th.
We’re only 1 game behind the Astros, and we gained a game on the Mariners.
I hope we win tomorrow, too.
Night!
