I love my family.
I love spending time with them, I really do. In this instance, it was an entire day with Liz’s sister Julianne, and then later, Scott and Addie. It was just a perfect day. It really was. We also got to spend time with some new family: the parents of J’s fiancé, Jon and Rita.
That’s where our day started: we drove out to their house, which is about 30 minutes south of Portland. They’ve only recently moved into this house, actually, and they showed us around their retirement dream home. Amazing garden, amazing quilting room, and they cooked us an amazing lunch. It was really, really amazing. Wonderful time.
Then we drove out to J and Mike’s wedding venue, a winery in the countryside. Scott and Addie met us out there and we walked around the grounds to see the place, did a wine tasting together, and Addie and I played a round of corn hole together. It was so. Freaking. Pretty. Out there. Uuuuugggghhhhh.
We all went and got dinner together after that nearby, a delish local spot called Oswego Grill. They had a spicy Mac and cheese that was insaaaannne. Love it.
We parted ways with Scaddie after dinner, and came home to walk the pups, who’d been SO GOOD all throughout the day. During our walk around the garden with Coco, she spotted the chickens and wanted to chase them around a bit…and when we told her to leave them alone she did! What a good girl. She didn’t even try to chase them again. Uuuugggh. She’s such a good dog. And so is Charlie, J’s dog. Such a sweetheart!
So, yeah. It was a wonderful day. It’s been a wonderful trip.
Huzzah!
