We road-tripped today. Oh my lawd, did we road trip.

But first, we stopped by to see Ryan and Lisa and Penelope Elaine Wilkins, who is the newest member of the Wilkins clan. Holy crap is she a cutie. So alert. So chill. So smol. She’s definitely in the paperweight stage right now; not crawling around into trouble, and not teething herself into fussy sleeplessness. And Ryan and Lisa *genuinely* seemed like they were kinda rocking the whole parenting thing. Stressful and tiring without a doubt…but handling that like pros. I’m so happy for them, and it was so wonderful to see them.

The new car is fun to drive. It has this adaptive cruise control mode that will keep you a certain number of car lengths away from other cars, and automatically speed and up and slow down. It’s so clutch. No more getting road-zombied and having to slam on the breaks when the car train in front of you suddenly slows on the 5. It’s awesome.

The sound system is amaze. The seats are comfortable. It has a surprising amount of horsepower/pickup for a hybrid. It’s really, really fun and easy. The only thing I need practice on is backing it up and pulling into parking spaces. The size of the car will take getting used to.

The A’s won today. We split the series with the Mariners, which was annoying because it would have been nice to bury them…but then again, we fended them off from making a comeback, too. So. Yeah. I’ll take it. We play the Yankees for three games starting tomorrow. I hope we sweep ’em. That would put us in position to challenge them for the top wildcard spot, which would be clutch.

Coco was the PERFECT travel companion dog. Omg. So good. Just loved laying in the back seat, sleeping. And holy crap was she good with Penny. She went right over to Liz, who was holding Penny at the time, and laid down, rolled onto her back, and promptly fell asleep. She loves babies. I’m telling y’all. Love them.

Anywho…I’m zonked. Totally zonked. Lots of driving. We did the whole trip, 500 miles, on less than one tank of gas. Crazy. Just crazy.

Night!
