Today was day 9 of 90. 1/10th of the way there!
I wrote a couple hundreds words today, finished out this chapter I’m working on. Tomorrow is a “full” day of writing. Hoping to hit 4,000 words. I actually am closing in on the final several chapters of the book. Finally. FINALLY! What a huge step it will be to finish.
I downloaded a military sci-fi book on audible for research. It’s immensely popular, and I want to see why. With 2x audio speed, which I find is usually about how fast I need it to be to keep my mind occupied and entertained, I should be able to listen to the first two books in the series in just over a week. So, given how sporadic that discipline can be…two weeks from now? 😛
I’ve read 18 book so far this year, tho! That’s already more than last year, I think. Progress. Progress. One step at a time.
We–meaning the Ho and I–went to Lost Spirits Distillery again today. That place is so freaking fun. Holy crap. It’s changed since we went in January. They still sell their Navy Rum, which I’m guessing is basically their flagship product…that and their abomination line of single malt whiskies, but neither the Ho nor I are crazy about scotch whisky…but they had a brandy that was soooo freaking good, too. Very clean and sweet. We got another bottle of the Navy rum, and the brandy for me. That shit will last forever. That’s kind of the wonderful thing about spirits. They last and last and last.
We went with our friend Rob Z from the Disjointed days. He’s a booze-lover and connoisseur, so this was the *perfect* outing to hang together. He loved it. At least, I hope he did. He really seemed to. I love that place, too. With a passion. It’s so fun. Science! Pirates! Boat Rides! And, there was a neighborhood kitty that was really, really sweet, and really loved the pats.
Then we came home and conked out for a couple hours. It was just enough booze (and then sunshine once we got outside) to make up super sleepy. Plus, it had been a loooong weekend for me. I really need to try and keep my weekends to ONE social event instead of two…but two is still doable. Particularly if it’s something I enjoy, like it was this weekend with seeing K-Bear and Arg, and hanging out with Rob. Plus, it meant more time with Bear. And that’s always amazing.
Time for bed. I want to have a good day tomorrow.
Wish me luck.
