I bless the rains down in Afri–…Sherman Oaks.
It’s raining! Always a treat down here…almost. It just rained so much where I grew up that it makes me think of…home, and it makes me think of the winter time. It never snowed in Humboldt, not down by the ocean. You had to get up to some elevation to get snow. But it rained.
It rains in Humboldt for seemingly six months straight, from October/November till April/May. Rain always meant winter time. And frost on the clear mornings that freezes the ground into little ice shards that look like crystals. And they crunch under your feet.
The pups got their hairs cut yesterday. I’m not sure if I mentioned that. I don’t think I did…but they did. And they’re soooo cute right now, and they smell sooooo good. So fresh. Like puppies.
Liz’s dad, Lin, came into town today. We cleaned the house together and I went and played some tennis with Reed, and then we all went out to dinner at the Local Peasant.
I have a new discovery: I really like English Ales. Omg. LOVE. THEM. They’re so creamy, and well-rounded taste-wise. Not too bitter, not to grainy, not too anything…which makes them sound bland, but they’re not at all. Balanced, I think I would call them. A nice balance of ALL the flavors. And that cream. Mmmmmm. Love them.
After we got home from dinner, we sat on the couch and we watched Dogs, which is the Netflix documentary series on, well, dogs. Six of them. They’re profiles, really, about six dogs and who their humans are, and what their story is.
It’s a really, reeaalllyyy well-done series. The cinematography is breathtaking at times, and the stories, especially the first two, are riveting, touching, and important.
So good.
Anywho…it’s time for sleeps. I got my new mouse in, finally, so I can use my computer like normal again. I also got in the new WiFi system and already it’s soooo much better than the WiFi we were using from our cable modem. Good lord. SO. MUCH. BETTER.
So, yeah…great day. Gonna be another one tomorrow.
Good night!
