I kinda crushed it today.
I was tired. Still. What else is new 😂 But, I had a very, very solid work day, EVEN THOUGH I woke up a bit late and didn’t get my full hour’s worth of writing in before work. I stayed a bit later after work, and made up the time.
I got through almost 100 pages today of the plot post-its. It’s the most I’ve done in a single day I think since I started this phase of the project. I didn’t quite finished, which I know I said “hell or high water,” but what I really meant, what I always mean is that I just wanted to get in a full days’ work.
I did.
That’s something I’ve learned, fellow writers: don’t try to “make up” time. At least in the planning stages. You can’t count on that. Chances are, your “full days’ work” is just about all you can get done in a day. If you’re rolling, and feeling like you can keep going, BY ALL MEANS go for it. You should ALWAYS go for more in that case…but don’t schedule that shit. Don’t plan on it. Just get done a “normal” amount.
I keep reminding myself of that. Re-learning it.
Work-work is going well, too. We had a weekly meeting today, and the up-and-ups expressed how pleased they are with how the project is coming along. So, that was nice to hear. Whew! It’s nice to hear that things are going well.
Anyway, it’s time for sleep. I’m past my bed time. I’m going to try my hardest to get up on time. Lots to do tomorrow, too.
