We’re all packed and ready to head up for the great Pacific Northwest.
I had to get myself a new suitcase! I’d *completely* forgotten that my trusty old Ricardo suitcase that my mom literally bought for me from Gottshalks when I was graduating from Junior High…it finally broke on our last trip. The wheels shattered.
So, that was fun. Luckily, Marshall’s was open down the street till 11, so I trucked on down and got me some new suitcase action. It was simultaneously wonderful and clutch, AND a bit annoying because the pickings there were slim. I still found myself something, but it wasn’t ideal. Hopefully what I got is worth it.
Went into work today for a half day. Helped the guy who’s taking over whilst we’re OOT get all set up. And the crazy thing is that me and this dude who’s filling in go way back with the Flix! He was hired with me the very first time I ever did contract work for them. So, that was fun. Good guy. We had some fun catching up.
I am leaving town feeling slightly like I wish I’d finished a bit more writing, and a bit more other work…but I hope that evaporates tomorrow, because I really am looking forward to this trip, and to the coming year. I *should* feel like I kinda finally got my shit together, because I really have. Work has been great. I don’t feel distracted. I feel focused and productive. Confident. I just wish I’d finished a couple things before leaving 😒
Whatevs. It’s time for sleep.
