Man, there is nothing like a hot shower after a long day. That shit feels soooo goooood.
I had a very productive day today. I’m reading the second book in my Story Grid Certification materials, Carolina Moon, and I’m already (just shy of) halfway through it!
It’s a romance book. I think. Kinda. Mostly.
There’s a serial killer in the middle of the plot, and the main character has extrasensory/shining-like abilities to see visions and feel their emotions/desires/thoughts.
Enjoying it so far. It’s rather much tamer than I expected 😛 But then again, there are maaaany kinds of Romance books, and a whole “steam” rating system, I know. I’ll also say that it’s very, very well-written. Like, Nora Roberts’ prose is wonderful. I’m quite enjoying the tale.
Anyway, it’s time for bed. Again, I’m late coming to bed. But, I wanted to play some Beat Saber and got, of course, caught up and played for almost an hour 🙄 Then, I took said shower, and now here we are.
I just regailed Liz with this movie that Oscar, the guy I used to work with at the video rental store when I was in High School, would play constantly on the TV next to the cash registers: Forces of Nature. It was with Sandra Bullock and Ben Affleck about a guy who’s afraid to fly, but he has to get down to his wedding, and so he reluctantly agrees to travel with an eccentric, fun-loving woman who’s also perfect for him, and here’s the thing: I remember that movie kinda being trashed on, Oscar aside, and so I read about it just now and guess what?
THEY FUCKED THE ENDING
In the movie, Sandra and Ben don’t end up together. Whaaaaattt??? How do you make a romantic comedy and not have your two main characters end up together. That’s the entire fucking point of a romantic comedy!
It cost $75 million to make, and it grossed $95. Mmmmhmmm.
Know your genre, peeps. It’s the most important thing.
Night 🙂
