Podcasting is exhausting, yo.
So are vacations 😂
I am wiped the fuck out right now. It was a day of exhausting shit. In a good way.
It started with therapy, in which I was challenged by my therapist to engage with the critical aspects of my thinking by asking them questions as opposed to ignoring them or trying to shout them down. Then it moved to Foodfest in downtown LA with Liz’s manager and–truly–family friend, Jered, and a couple of his other clients.
That was super fun. The food was good, and it was really fun to try the eats from all the different MLB stadiums. So. Good.
And, finally, it was podcasting with Josh. We were both a bit space cadet-y today, both feeling unplugged and not quite touching the ground, so we took a little while longer than usual to actually start the podcast and watch the movie…but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s one of my favorites we’ve done when I listen to it tomorrow. We really just went with the flow today, and I dug it.
And, I have to say, I really enjoy the mission of this podcast, which is not juuuust to react to these movies on the level of “like” or “didn’t like,” but dive at least one level deeper than that and ask “why.” I’m not sure we answer that question on any universal level, but at the very least we formulate an answer for each of us on a personal level. And man…specificity breeds universality. So, hopefully some of that shit is connecting with our listeners on a level that makes sense to them.
That’s all I got for you tonight. It’s definitely time to sleep. I gotta kick this jet lag before I go back to work on Monday 😬
Night!
