Man.

The Warriors game tonight was 🔥

Dubs down KD, their highest scoring and consensus cheat-mode player, in Houston…and for the first two quarters, Steph Curry lays a big fat zero. Recipe for disaster, right?

I’d think.

I’d be wrong.

They went back to their Strength in Numbers days, and the TEAM won this game. Or, at the very least, kept the game close until the final 6 minutes or so, when Curry proceeded to light the court on fire and close out the Rockets. Again.

Again.

After allll the shit-talking the Rockets did. Taken down again by Golden State.

That has to be deflating. I know it has been with the A’s, when Detroit seemed to kill us every time it felt like we were close to breaking through…or just the AL Division Series in general, which we’ve only won once in…well, since it was invented over 20 years ago.

But, mostly, I feel amazement at just how good this era of Warriors basketball is. They’re so, soooo good. The type of good that comes around maybe once in a generation as a fan.

I don’t know how to explain the game. The Rockets…man, I could see early on that they were in danger of losing this one. They never got into that mode when they were rolling and started to crush you. I saw the mode during the regular season. They’re impossible to stop…just like when the Warriors do it. I didn’t see that ONCE this series from them. Not once. They never had the smell of blood in the water. Not even when KD went down last game.

What a weird series.

I saw them like that last year once Iggy went down with the knee injury. I was scared. I think the Warriors were scared, too.

Never felt that this year. From game 1, I saw a team that knew it was going to be beat. And they beat them.

KD would be crazy to leave this team after a game like that.
