I got to see family today that I don’t get to see very often.

My brother Seth, his partner Lena, and my nephew Henri were in town, stopping over on their way out to Hawaii for business, and I got to have breakfast with them, plus an afternoon hangout once Liz got back into town.

It was so, sooo good to see them.

They live out in New York, and that…man, that’s far away. It’s hard to have family scattered around as much as it is. They’re about to move out to Germany, actually, which is where Lena is from. We’re excited for them, though. It’s going to be a wonderful place for Henri. It’s a temporary move as of right now, but I have to think it would be a great place for him to grow up.

We’ll see. You never know what life is going to bring, you know?

The rest of the day was spent getting Cooper and Coco through their School Portraits photo shoot down in Playa Vista.

There’s this photographer from New York who used to be in the fashion industry AND do School Portraits…and now she does school portraits for dogs. They’re amaaaaaazing. So, we had a half hour each for Cooper and Coco to get them in and out of four outfits that Liz had put together.

For a hot second, it was just going to be me taking care of that, but Liz was able to meet me at the studio place (which was really this animal-rescue/facility place that was suuuuper cool). Thank gawd for that. I mean, I’d have done just fine on my own with the instructions she gave me, but actually having her there definitely made sure everything went off perfectly without a hitch.

Can’t wait to see what the photos look like.

Came home. Fed the pups. Took a nap. Walked them. Ate a slice of pizza and watched an episode of Dark. And suddenly here we are: it’s almost midnight and I’ll be a little sleep-deprived tomorrow.

Le sigh.

It is what it is.

Night 😉
