Twas a rainy day today in Portland.

Rainy, but mild. Not a storm. Ie- there was no wind to speak of, it wasn’t super cold. Just gray and wet.

How perfect that this storm was coming in and it was gorgeous for the days leading up to and including Scott and Addie’s wedding (did I mention that the weather yesterday and last night was absolutely, gloriously perfect?)…and the day after their wedding, the rain returns? Apparently it was rainy and wet for the past week or so, as well…so it really cleared up for them.

Love it.

We went over to their house for a Virta-sponsored brunch, and it was POPPIN there. We were able to celebrate Lena’s birthday with cake and candles. Everybody was there to sing, which was really awesome. Got to hang with some of Addie’s extended family, which I loved. It was really wonderful.

It’s my first time doing that…getting to add someone else’s family through none of my own doing, ya know? Like, yes, obviously getting to add the Ho clan to my family was (truly) amazing…but I’d also gotten to know them and considered them family well, wellllll before we ever got married. That process had already happened for me.

This time around, it was different. This time around, it really was this wedding that got me to know Addie’s family. The bachelor/bachelorette party, too. And I’m so glad for that. I get weddings, you know? 😂 They really can act as a unifying event to bring two families closer together.

After brunch and birthday celebrations, we went home and took a nap for two glorious hours…and then we went to Din Tai Fung for dinner. Holy bejesus do I love that place. MY GOD. Those DUMPLINGS. I had a number of beverages, all of which were amazing. Milk Tea? Yes. House lager? Yum. A delicious sake? Fuck ya. Also water. Duh.

Then we came home and hung out for a while.

Now…sleep. Night.
