It so easily could have gone off the rails today.
I got to work having forgotten entirely that I was supposed to move desks today, which meant gathering up my stuff—the easy part—and wiping out all my personal stuff from the computer I’d been using for the past three months, plus setting up my laptop to be my main computer again.
Stressful.
BUT…it was actually pretty easy. I like my new spot. Signing out of the iMac was pretty damn easy, and my laptop was essentially ready to go. I have all my documents and stuff syncing over iCloud anyway, so it never really missed a beat.
It did wipe me out a bit—I had to steal off down into the meditation room for a half hour to take a quick nap, otherwise I would have been dozing at my keyboard (something that, surprisingly for me, has never even happened at work, I don’t think!). And maaann…that did the trick. I was able to be super productive for the rest of the day.
Got everything done I wanted to, had a great writing sesh in the morning, a great one in the afternoon, and a great one just now. Maybe not GREAT in terms of the words themselves…but solid.
I’m definitely still exploring with this draft. Figuring out the stories I’m really telling, you know?
Of course you do 😉
Came home, watched the rest of the night Avenue 5 episodes that are available. You should watch that show if you can. It’s soooo good. Hilarious.
Helped Liz with some auditions. Ate dinner. Took a shower! Always love a shower. And now here we are.
It was a solid day.
