Liz and I watched Captain America: The First Avenger today.
I hadn’t seen it since I first watched it back five or six years ago, I think. Whenever Winter Soldier came out, I think, is when we watched it last. We missed it in theaters when it first came out. Neither of us liked the movie all that much.
We were high. It’s pretty damn good. Not perfect, for sure, but it works.
The difference? Between that time and now, I’ve come to love Chris Evans as Steve Rogers and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter and Buckey. I’ve come to love them all, and watching them come together in their first movie together…there was goodwill there this time. The movie plays well.
We’re going to watch the rest of the Marvel movies, I think, during quarantine. I think that will be fun. Next up is Avengers. Some good movies ahead. Really good.
Today, with the exception of a truly epic 2-hour nap in the middle of it, felt like a pretty normal Sunday. Therapy was great. Walking the pups was great. I posted the Film School episode. Hung out with Panda…she made the most incredible bread today, you guys. A loaf of sourdough. Good lord. It smells so good, and the texture of it—springy and soft—and the taste with butter.
I married up is what I’m saying.
It’s raining right now. The last of the rain, I think. Maybe some next week, but we’ll see. The rain came late this year, but it’s good that it did come. Just weird that it’s almost April and it’s raining. That’s highly unusual. Down here in LA, anyway.
Good day.
Looking forward to writing tomorrow. I feel like I’m getting back in the groove, believe it or not. That feels good, despite everything that’s going on, I still have my writing.
Night.
