There’s so much music I’ve liked over the past decade or so that I’ve never got the chance to mix into a set.

I’m listening to one such track right now. Future Perfect by Way Out West. The Henry Saiz remix. I don’t even know if Henry is still making music. I don’t know if SO MANY of the artists I really loved are still making music. It’s a hard business. Look at me: I didn’t last. Case and point.

What I’m saying is…I’m really REALLY looking forward to DJing again 😂 and, hopefully, in a way that isn’t too much for me to handle. Like, just being able to pick it up and go whenever I want.

I also really, really like the idea of incorporating my love of SciFi into the whole shebang. My last set that I did, an Artist of the Week set the same week we were moving into our “new”/current place (what terrible timing, ugh—I remember vacuuming our empty old place with my headphones on taking final notes for the set on things to adjust)…anyway…that set is probably (definitely) the best that I’ve ever put together, and that’s what I did: I took clips from SciFi films and sprinkled them throughout the music at opportune moments to give it an overall SciFi feel. That’s my sweet spot: music and SciFi.

Anyway…I have ideas. I’d love to figure out a way to stream sets with SciFi tv/film playing in the background without sound. Like it’s a big long music video. It’s possible I could get in trouble for doing that…but I think it’s worth a try just because it would be so fracking cool. We’ll see.

Also have some exciting goals this week writing-wise…but in order to get it all done…it’s time for sleep.

Night!
