Listening to a track right now that I really like because I know it’s something John Digweed would play 😂

Hard to say how much he influenced the music I like on the electronic side of things. He’s not the only one, to be sure, but he was the most influential for a large period of my life. I tried to build my sets like he did, full of understated tracks that by themselves weren’t necessarily so remarkable, but when assembled together and played at the right time, felt like they were mind blowing. Truly using the art of putting a set together and mixing to make the most of the music.

I played my Deep House set today in full. Two hours! Just shy of that. I have a couple gaps to fill, a little fiddling here and there, but otherwise, I think I have a set. I’m going to put it to Star Trek The Motion Picture, I think. Such a visually interesting film. Very retro. It’s perfect. Or, maybe I’ll use several films. Not sure.

But, the set is tight. It’s not perfect, but I don’t need it to be. I could be agonizing over the perfect track list and flow. But, I’m not going to. I *like* the way the set shifts gears over and over. Not jarringly. It’s still all Deep House, but the vibe changes back and forth. It doesn’t build, per se…it’s more of just vining. And I dig that. As long as the mixes themselves are working. Which they are 🙂

Really proud of it.

Oh! And totally random…but, I beat the latest side-scrolling Mario Bros game today. Completely. Not just Bowser, but every exit and every star coin.

I’m such a completionist. I really am 😛

Anywho. Time for bed. Going to take it easy again tomorrow.

Night.
