The spring clean has become the summer clean.
I’ve been wanting to pare down my stuff. I have too much of it. And I’ve wanted to do it for awhile. I started on it, actually, back at the very beginning of this pandemic, but I still haven’t finished.
Need to sell some things. Need to find better homes for the rest. Organizing. Sorting. Reminiscing. And deleting.
I did a fair amount of all that today. I swapped out one set of closet drawers for another for the things that we use most often, including tape and our drill/screwdriver, etc. They’ll be sooo much easier to get to now. And then I swapped out the location of our winter coats and luggage, since we hardly ever grab those. Especially these days. And that, hopefully, opens up some closet space next to my writing chair that I can use to re-home the belongings of mine that I want to keep. In my own space, where I can make sure I have room enough for everything.
Getting rid of a lot of stuff, too. We’ve already taken two carloads of just *stuff* to the Jewish Women’s Council. There will be more, certainly. Selling other stuff, or at least I will try to. If it doesn’t sell, then I’ll just give it away, too. That’s the plan. With the money, there are three major things I’m looking to get in return: a bicycle because I want to start riding for exercise, a camera that I can shoot video with (and use to record Liz’s auditions), and a new set of golf clubs that are fitted especially to me so I can play more golf. And maybe golf lessons. We’ll see about that, too, maybe, or even instead of the clubs.
Things I want to USE.
The A’s won today. I watched the game with Liz whilst organizing and cleaning. I took another wonderful, much-needed nap. It’s been hard for me to nap these past couple weeks. I’ll lay down and have a hard time falling asleep, or staying asleep. This weekend, I finally had two GREAT naps, where I was legitimately out cold. Slept for over an hour both times, but not in a bad way. In that way where I woke up and felt refreshed. Finally rested.
And speaking of rest…it’s time for sleep.
I had a good weekend, you guys. I feel much more grounded. Much more calm. Much more focused. Looking forward to my week.
Good night!
