I’m my weakest at two times of the day, every day.
The first is when my morning alarm goes off up through being out of bed for the first five minutes or so. I have to imagine a lot of people can relate, but without a doubt, I fail the most during this time. I have absolutely no willpower, no resolve. The only thing that can save me from this time of the day is when I *have* to do something.
I think that’s why working out first thing out of bed has been so helpful for me. It short circuits this vulnerable time. Or, when I was working, why that was so helpful. I had to get up and go to work.
The second vulnerable time is around 3pm every day. I get so tired. And the times that I indulge in taking a nap, it’s usually for too long, and that takes time to recover from. It’s hard for me to do much during that time. The good news here is that it usually only lasts for an hour, and if I can find something to jumpstart me or keep me going for that hour, I don’t miss a beat.
