I didn’t have the BEST Monday, but it was pretty damn good. It started with frustration.
I didn’t have a very good night’s sleep, a recurring theme with my Mondays of late. And pretty sure I know why: I put pressure on Mondays. I shouldn’t. But, I do. I’m working on it. Because I didn’t get a good night’s sleep, I woke up late. Not too late. I was out of bed by 8:30 and sitting down for work 45 minutes later after having fed the pups and done my first workout.
But…I didn’t write. So, I was still frustrated.
Work was good. I got a lot done. And I had time to check off several items from my to-do list that I’d been putting off for a very long time for no good reason. I still have a rather long list of that same stuff to get done tomorrow…but I think I can actually DO it tomorrow, because it’s about half of what the list used to be, and I was able to do the other half of it today…should work out.
And then I got to spend a truly lovely evening with Liz. We made food together and watched For All Mankind, which is a show I tried to watch and get into last year but it just didn’t catch. It’s caught this year watching it with Bear. We’re enjoying it. It’s not perfect, but we’re enjoying it.
I also got to go grocery shopping, pay the bills…it was a good, solid day. It would have been an amazing day had I got up when I wanted to. But…
I’m letting that go. It’s done. It happens. The best thing to do is just move on. Short memory. Like an athlete.
One more thing: today was the day we finally scored a PS5. So…you know…today was also a GD miracle of a day. Praise be.
Night.
