Today…was amazing.

It was amazing, because it was what I want “normal” to be…and normal is within my grasp.

I woke up on time. Ohhhhh did I hate it. But, I did it. I did my little workout, which got my blood flowing and made me less tired, and then I grabbed my iPad, went to my office, and I sat down to write.

Shoutout to my writing partner: I’d sent him what I’d worked on outline-wise, and stated my intentions to finish a second draft of it…and he wrote me back to say that was all fine and good…but I needed to send him new chapters instead. My first reaction was to say “nope, this is what I need to do.” And…then I checked myself, and I thought: you know what…how about both?

And, so I did both. I wrote new pages (4.5 of them – over my goal of 3!), AND I worked on the rest of the outline. I think I can finish the outline and have 15 new pages by week’s end. Next week, the goal for pages goes up to 20.

So, that was great. And then I started work, right on time, and I proceeded to crush that for the rest of the day. I might even be able to finish my big work project early, which would be amazing.

I got in a nap. I was able to walk the dogs with Liz. I watched the Warriors eek out a victory against the Jazz—arguably the best team in basketball, though tonight they rested two of their better players, but hey! we made them pay for it!—and I recorded my second DJ set in two days.

It.

Was.

FIRE.

And then I took a shower and arranged it into a full writing session for tomorrow along with the set I recorded yesterday. It’s EXACTLY two hours and fifteen minutes, it includes a meditation session to start, and even a gap in the middle for me to get up, stretch, and make my morning drink.

I literally cannot wait to use it tomorrow morning.

The idea is to make a bunch of these, several dozen, and I can kinda rotate through them for my morning sessions. uuuuggghhhhh it’s so exciting.

I’m excited to get up and write.

Who saw that coming?
