I only wrote 6 pages today, I think…but between yesterday and today, it evens out to 10 apiece, and I am absolutely fine with that. That feels like the normal flow of things.

I’m thinking about adjusting my work schedule. Already! It might be better to do 15 pages a day, five days a week as opposed to 10 pages a day every day. 15 pages a day would be quite the challenge…but those two days off might make it possible. I could also do 3 days on, 2 days off like I used to do back in the day with my video editing. That’s also very appealing. I’d have to see how that works out math-wise…but I’m pretty sure that would still be a faster pace than 10 pages every day AND give me regular rest.

Anyway…not like I’m feeling like I need rest. Quite the opposite. I’m raring to go, thank you lord. So, maybe the schedule is good just the way it is. We’ll see. It’s all about experimenting. And, I rarely stick with a specific routine forever. I like to mix it up. Sometimes to my detriment. Sometimes to my benefit.

Client work was good today. Writing is hard. Chris, if you’re reading this, you got this, even though it IS hard. The solutions are there, we just have to keep working at them till we figure it out. There’s no shortcuts.

We talked together today about how the impulse to tear it all up and start over is often resistance. It’s a seductive thought: if I just start over, I’ll get it right the second time. Or the third. Or the fourth. And then it turns into a cycle of never finishing. The real work is rolling up the sleeves, NOT throwing it all away, keeping the good stuff, and replacing the bad stuff with better stuff. THAT is hard. THAT…is the work.

Tired. But, happy I found my rhythm this week. Thank loooorde.

Need to sleep.

Actually doing that shit on time tonight, which is why I had more to say.

We’re all writing-obsessed over here, folks. Not sorry bout it.
