It’s good to be home.

I know we’ve been home for a good…well, I was about to say week, but that’s not actually true. We’ve only been home, now, for four days. No wonder I’m not fully back into my routine yet! Anyway…even though we’ve actually been home for several days, tonight felt like a normal night.

Odd, since today felt mostly anything but normal. And not for any major reason…I just felt “off” for most of the day. It was a good day! It started with a productive writing session. Then, therapy—even that was a bit off-kilter; I somehow forgot what time it is that we meet, but thankfully she was willing to do it over Zoom, so we really only missed about 10 minutes. Then, football, which was also off.

Apparently our “demo” account with DirecTV no longer includes football. I’d thought I was going to be able to sit, eat breakfast, and watch the beginning of the Niners game out in Philly. No dice. That was frustrating.

We won. Then, I took a massive nap. Passed out. Dead to the world. It’s what I’m planning to do in a few minutes, in fact, once I’ve finished writing this blog entry. Helped Bear with an audition, then we walked the pups, and it was around then, I think, that it just really settled in how much I enjoy being home. With Liz and the dogs. We watched Ted Lasso and ate dinner. It was wonderful.

There’s no place like home.

Perfect theme for the entry tonight, given that tomorrow is The Wizard of Oz on the podcast. Oh, and I did that stuff early in the day rather than right before bed. It’s hard for me to do that, but boy does it feel good.

And now…pups are on the bed, Liz is out in the living room watching TikTok, and I’m ready for sleep. I intend to have an excellent writing week. Finish this damn book. Wish. Me. LUCK.

It’s an exciting end 🙂

Night night.
