Josh and I watched the second-to-last film for the AFI Top 100 list tonight/this morning (seeing as it’s currently just past 2am).

It’s not actually movie #2 on the list. That’s The Godfather, which we watched last week, but we skipped Part 2 further down on the list because that wouldn’t make sense to watch before the first one. So…tonight we watched movie #32 on the list, but next week: movie #1

We’ll have watched the entire list. Crazy. It hasn’t sunk in. I plotted out how long it would take us to do this…two years ago? And we got waylaid, of course, by COVID lockdowns (twice, actually); but here we are now. About to finally finish. Kinda crazy. Hard to wrap my head around it.

I’ll miss the list.

We’re moving onto other things—themes, projects, side excursions, and other lists for Film School; the podcast isn’t going anywhere—things I’m looking forward to VERY much…

But I will miss the list. It’s taught me A LOT. And it was very comforting to know that it was so large. It seemed like a project that would go on forever, kind of. At least, there was for so long still so far to go after each movie we watched. Until tonight, really…

There’s only one left.

Next time we meet, it’ll be even weirder. There will be none left.

But, I’ll save that thought to ponder till next time, I suppose.

Night night.
