In the midst of prepping for this Vegas conference. It’s A LOT. I am so looking forward to it this year, however.
I say “however” because last year was COVID, and it really stressed me out that we were going to do the conference. We didn’t. Thankfully. The State of Nevada stepped in and took care of that for everyone’s safety, and our conference director—who’d put up the front money to make it happen—didn’t get hit with any lost funds.
It was “however” the year before, too, though. I was two years out from having written my first book and I couldn’t figure out why. I was juuuust about to hit rock bottom three months later. We’d reached a breaking point with where we were working, and I was just about to go back to work full time for Netflix. It was…a stressful time back in November of 2019.
It’s still stressful now, for sure, but for much, muuuuch better reasons. I’ve finished a book. I’m about to write another. We’ve just about finished a major project that I’ll be able to talk about soon. Josh and I are about to finish our AFI watch. It’s a lot of FINISHING this time around, and my mindset because of that is completely different.
The scale of what I’m doing as the sole head of the A/V Team is huge. Orders of magnitude more than before. But…I think we’re in good shape. We’ll see when things start rolling, but I think we’re good. I almost have all the different rooms all set up with their equipment kits. Everything labeled, organized, ready to go. Almost. I probably have a few hours still of that tomorrow, but once that’s done, I just need to post a couple podcasts so those are queued up and ready to go, pack my own stuff…and I’m ready.
Looking forward to the trip. And the rest of the year.
Night night.
