Another late night. And it was another movie! This time, it was with bear…we watched the last Bond film. It was…fine. Not great. Definitely wanted to tug some heartstrings that it did not. And that’s always unfortunate. Fukunaga is another one of those directs who is VERY close to being amazing…but not quite there in the end. I loved Maniac overall, but it was just not quite all the way there. It could have had me in the palm of its hand, but it didn’t quite know how to pull all the strings.
No Time To Die was never close to having me in the palm of its hand…but it was still fun. Pretty. Some genuinely great action sequences. And not completely off base in terms of the directions they were trying to go. It could have worked, top to bottom. It just…didn’t.
Writing was solid today. I didn’t make up any ground, but I did get today’s pages done. Tomorrow will have to be the day. We’ll see.
