Coco is home. She’s back from the hospital. She went poop on her own outside. She hasn’t peed yet at home, but apparently she went pee at the hospital today (and I don’t think she’s had much water to drink — she didn’t want her meatorade tonight). Something to monitor…
She’s eating. She’s very, very weak. But, she’s resting and she’s not in pain which is a MASSIVE improvement from last week when she was literally screaming. Whew!
I had a solid work day. My book published today. We ate fruit tarts from Porto’s and drank eisswein, which is a reisling dessert wine. Holy SHIT that was good.
So, now we find our new routine. It’s going to take a few days, to be sure. Coco needs help. She can’t stand on her own. Hopefully that continues to improve. Doc said her strength testing today on those back legs was actually quite good. So, the muscles are there. She can use them. It’s just really hard for her to do so. I’d guess she’s probably lost some coordination along with strength. Hopefully we can help that with physical therapy.
Glory 2 had a good opening day. It’s up in the top 10,000 right now, which is respectable. If we can crack top 5k or even 1k, that would be a smash success, to be honest. I’d love to see that. But…we’ll see. It’s a full-priced launch. We’re not running a sale on it or on book 1. Not yet, anyway. We’ll see how it goes. With the pre-order up for book 3, it’s a three-book series, now! Wild.
This book is the first “second book” I’ve ever finished. By that I mean the second book in a series. I never finished the second Starstuff book. Or, I shouldn’t say “never,” because I will finish that book. I will finish that whole series, in fact…and I hope to do it this coming year. So, since Glory 1 was the only other book I’d finished up till this point…it makes Glory 2 my first sequel. A banner day. A huge step forward.
That second book, man, it’s tricky. It’s tough. I’m not making everything up from scratch any more. I’ve painted myself into some corners. I have to be consistent.
I did it.
Whew.
Night night.
