I’m getting organized, y’all. Whew. FINALLY.
My desk is clean. It’s been…a long, loooonnngggggg time since that was last true. It’s been a YEAR, man. Busy, busy, busy. I’m still recovering from the move. But, I am recovering. Finally. Shit is getting ticked off the list, and I haven’t piled the plate high with replacement stuff yet. YET. I’m sure I will, particularly once I start outlining this next book in earnest.
You know what? I’m fighting resistance in terms of writing the next book, sure, and it was really stressful finishing the last book in time…but behind all that? I’m pleasantly surprised to find that I am really REALLY excited to write this next book. And not because of what it’s about—I don’t even know that yet—I just mean in general. I can’t wait to write the next story, because that’s what I do now. I write books. BOOKS. With an “S.” It’s living the fucking dream, you guys. Right now. Just the thought fills me up.
Books.
Coco did much better with her meds tonight. She even had her Dasuquin, which she doesn’t eat on nights that she’s being a pill.
Liz and I were working on the finances at the dinner table (not while eating, just in the dining room) tonight and she barked at us because she wanted to be up over on the couch 😂 Literally, that’s what she wanted. We finished, I picked her up and walked over there with her, and she immediately proceeded to make herself comfortable and fall asleep. I fucking love her so goddamn much. I’m so, so relieved that she’s back to being herself. She’s happy. Silly. Ornery. She’s Coco, just living her life.
Liz watched the game with me tonight. Like, actually watched it, and oh ho boy was it a game to watch. We were up big early, then down late, then pulled out the win on some AMAZING defense. The Warriors might finally be finding their defensive identity. I sure hope so. We still need to show it on the road, but there have been some clutch wins against some decent teams over the past week, and all without Steph and Wiggins. We’ve won on defense, which is a very good sign. I was literally jumping and screaming as the game came to a close.
Night night.
