Coco is tiiiiired next to me tonight. She did treadmill and an EXCELLENT physical therapy session of exercises and stretches afterwards, then finally some laser therapy and her joints shot. Really good exercise.
I had really good physical exercise today as well. I weed whacked the front yard so when our plastic arrives in a couple days (on Tuesday), it’s all ready to be put down. That’s how we’re tackling the weed problem this time: depriving it of light, and boiling them with the trapped heat. They’ll die pretty quickly, I think. Then we’re clear to actually landscape the front yard. Put in the plants we want to.
Still figuring out that latter part, but there is a big plant sale that our friend Nicole has told us about, and we can get the plants we want then. Kinda a soft deadline to get the whole shebang prepped. Though, not really, because we can just leave the plants in pots for a little while if we need to. And we probably will. We have a decent amount of work to do out there—digging, running electrical and irrigation, hardscaping, probably won’t be able to do it, but at some point concrete, I mean…that’s some major shit right there. WEEKS of work. Months, perhaps, since it’s just me out there on the weekends. Sigh. BUT…
It’ll be worth it when it’s done. I can’t wait. Some real landscaping. And the kind we can water with the push of a button, and maintain without fighting the goddamn weeds every spring. Something that’s possible to take care of and keep nice-looking.
I knew it was going to take a rather monumental effort to do that today. It’s why I didn’t really schedule anything else. There’s a ton—TON—of other stuff I need to get done, but handling those weeds out there is top of the list. I can’t get as behind on it as I did last year. Never again. Now is the time to fix it. Spring is coming.
Niners play a big game tomorrow. I’m excited.
Night night.
