We had dinner al fresco tonight. So fancy to say it that way, innit? It was flat-out GORGEOUS outside this evening, a fact that became apparent as we were taking the pups on nighttime walkos. And so we were like: why don’t we go eat outside?

Joy, however, was wildly energetic. And Snacks was out in the backyard. So, I was like: let’s have Joy go and run her energy out with Snacks. Only problem is that she needs to be supervised because otherwise she will eat every wood chip, stick and other fibrous organic dropping out there. So, I had to go out there and chill with them. Coops did noooottt like that. Bark bark bark bark. So, he got all activated and anxious. A difficult combination with a supercharged puppy as well.

In the end, once it was dark anyway, we moved inside and I was able to babysit Coops until he calmed down while Liz helped Joy run her energy off.

It’s also that Joe and Madhuri and especially Ashika stayed with us over the weekend, which increases the energy in our household about a hundred-fold. Amps the dogs up, too, you know? Not in bad way, not at all. Just in general.

Anyway…he’s a good boy. He listens, even when it’s hard. So does Joy, actually. She really listens. She’s stopped biting and chewing on my hands because she knows I don’t want her to do that. And she’s getting so good at walking! Zoom zoom zoom, *squirrel!*, zoom zoomy. She really likes following Cooper around and sniffing everything he sniffs. so freaking adorable.

Writing didn’t happen today, despite my best efforts. But, I did finish up organizing our finances, which is a big relief. We’re going to try and make a routine out of getting together to do them. Need to make it fun, not just work. Because when we stay on top of them, we really handle our spending a lot better.

Work is quiet at the moment. Seems to happen like that. Big push. Quiet. More big push. Quiet again. And repeat. I’m grateful for the break, though, that’s for sure.

Night night.
