I had my first burgundy today. It was a general “cote challonaise,” ie- nothing special or specific in terms of vineyard, meaning ‘fancy’…but still! A genuine, bonafide burgundy. Never had one before.
It was delicious. As expected. Very light. Very tart. Not a ton of depth, which I guess is to be expected since I’m pretty sure those types of burgundy are literally meant to be drunk early, not aged—the light and fresh style made each year. I really, really enjoyed it. We had a nice dinner out tonight. Same thing tomorrow, I think.
Man. I am WIPED.
Night night.
