So…Silo was fun that first episode. Kinda has gone downhill since then. Not a ton for me. Maybe too much for Bear. She’s not digging it. But I liked the first episode more than she did. I’m still going to watch, but some of the writing is rough—scenes that don’t turn, dialogue that’s super on the nose, and some liberties with the structure of the story that leave me scratching my head.
It’s fine. I just thought it had a chance to be really really good, and it’s just fine. Graham Yost, the show runner, has some decent credits on his resume (including Band of Brothers) so there is definitely some A-team experience there…but the product, for whatever reason, isn’t hitting that level. Severance this is not. Which is a bummer. Because it could have been.
I should also say we’ve only watched three episodes. I should give it time. I will give it time.
Writing today was…fine. I did it. Hoping for a better session tomorrow. And in that regard, it’s time for sleep. Wish me luck!
