Long day today. Whew! But…I did it all. I even weeded in the waning hours of the evening. I went as long as I could see. Ended up getting in an hour. Need to make it two hours tomorrow. Maybe even more. We’ll see. Lots to do, and I want to get it done before Liz’s dad gets here this week for her birthday. I want it to at least look like someone is taking care of that front yard…and not nobody, which is what it’s been for the past several weeks. Been busy, man.
I wrote for my full time. I’m into Act 2. The battle begins. This book is going to be a banger. I know it. I can feel it. And it’s so smack-dab in the middle of genre expectations. Starts as a small battle…and then becomes a BIG battle. Big time stakes at play.
We’re watching Tommen for a couple days. He’s such a snuggle bug. Very attached. Always wants to be touching you. Very sweet, and very happy at our house. He fits right in with the group. Cooper loves it when he’s here, because Tommen is even more of a watch dog than he is, so it’s like he gets to hand over that duty to someone else and step down for a breather. Though, I have to say, Coops has been getting much calmer of late. A little older, probably, but I actually think that he’s finally adjusting to life in this house, feeling truly safe here, finally. And probably adjusting to Coco being gone. I’ll never forget a couple days after she passed, picking up her collar, her tags jingling, and Cooper coming running from the bedroom to look for her. That really broke my heart, because he was rushing to say hi. He missed her. He does that with Joy, now, when he hasn’t seen her for a bit. Runs up to her, sniffs, and wags his tail. He’s a good pup, even if he’s crazy sometimes.
Anyway…work was busy today, too. A busy, busy day all around. It’s bed time now. Gotta do it all again tomorrow. Night night!
