Cooper is always trying to get everyone in the same room, preferably the bedroom. Like, CONSTANTLY. If Liz and I are in separate rooms and, say, he’s with me, every time I get up or otherwise make like I’m going to be leaving, he’ll run to where Liz is, looking over his shoulder as he goes, like trying to make sure that I follow him. And if Liz and I are together anywhere in the house and do the same, he’ll run towards the bedroom. The bedroom is his favorite place in the world. It’s safe there, any cozy. And that’s where we all spend the most time together. It’s our den. Cooper’s den.
A good day today. A very simple, very sweet one. Started with getting up at 8, which is on time for a Saturday, and taking care of the pups. I then watched Monaco GP qualifying—very good chance that Verstappen, again, will not win a race; who’d have thought this season would be the one where Red Bull started to drop back towards the rest of the pack?—and ate breakfast. And then Wolfie came over for a play date with me. He wanted to play video games, so that’s what we did. He spent the entire two hours together playing A Short Hike. He loved it. I loved it. It was a grand old time. Cat was actually over, too, but she and Liz just got to hang out together by themselves. That was also very nice, and very sweet.
And then we just kinda chilled out for a while. We watched the rest of the first season of Welcome to Wrexham. SO. GOOD. My god, what an amazing show. And then we took a nap. I got up and FaceTimed with my bro. I watched some WNBA. Liz went and had dinner with a friend, and I stayed home with the pups and just kinda…rotted. Watched a little more TV, but mostly just chilled.
It was nice. It was a day I needed. I need another one kinda like that tomorrow.
Wish me luck.
