My car has two new tires. The old ones turned out to be EIGHT YEARS OLD, which is wild…but I’ve only put like thirty or forty thousand miles on them in that time (hey hey, the benefits of working from home!) so the single flat didn’t mean it was necessary to change all of them. We changed two, so they could be rotated together and wear evenly. Also had them fix my dead sensors, so no more constant low pressure icon on the dash. Next up: an overdue oil change, and then Schnoops will be in perfect working order once again.

Hit a wall writing-wise today…and pushed through it to get my pages done. Proud of that, and intrigued by how much better I felt once, simply, I’d eaten afterwards. How much of burnout is just Ira being hungry? Probably quite a bit. I feel like I’ve learned that lesson here on this blog before, ha ha.

There was an earthquake tonight. Baby one, but the rolling kind, that wobbles for a long time and just shifts back and forth in big, wobbly waves. What was notable about it, though, is that the emergency USGS alert went off seconds before it actually hit, so we had warning. It worked! That was really cool to see. Way to go USGS, and thank you. SCIENCE!

Wiped, man. Really tired. This is the slog part of it all. The grind. But this is also what gets the shit done, you know?

Time for sleep. Night night.
