Do I or my family make any special dishes for the holidays?

Liz has a turkey that’s freaking delicious. We haven’t done Thanksgiving at our place for the past few years, we’ve done it over at the King’s instead. But her turkey is legit. She puts butter under the skin, and that does the trick.

My mom really loved making cookies for the holidays. Chocolate chip, oatmeal butterscotch, and persimmon cookies were the ones she made most often. Oh, those always make me think about Christmas. She’d made a ton of them, and then we’d just snack on them as much as we wanted. Watch movies. Play with our gifts. Enjoy the time off from school. Those were good, good times.

A busy day with work, actually, but I got all my stuff done. Took a nap. Cleaned up some stuff in the front yard. Didn’t paint like I wanted to, but I just ran out of gas. Looks like the Warriors did against the Thunder, too, but I didn’t watch. No Steph tonight. He’s got some knee soreness. No matter. We’re a good team. We might struggle a bit for the next couple weeks, but I think they’re going to make some moves, actually. This team could go deep in the playoffs with the right moves. We’ll see. Might be an offseason thing. But don’t wait too long, kids. Steph doesn’t have much time left up at the very tippy top of the league.

Writing was good this morning, as expected! Got some scenes done. Need to read my co-writers’ novella he’s working on. I’m so behind on that because of work and all the extra effort to get this drywall repair, painting and living room makeover stuff done. Whew.

Finished Star Trek III while I was eating lunch. Started IV while I was making dinner. Love those movies, especially IV. One of my first favorite movies, actually. The one with the whales. It’s so good. Like, legit good. Much better than it should be, really. They were just cookin at that time.

Snacks was all snuggly and purring loud tonight when I went out to close up my office. Sweet boy. He’s not like that all the time. Always friendly, for sure. But not always into being petted for a long period of time. He’s a very busy cat. Not tonight. Snuggle city. And Pinkie today, our neighbor’s cat who likes to snooze in our front yard during the daytime, he was all happy to see me today, too. We’re becoming friends, I think. Liz got licky treats the other day, and I gave him one of those. I’ve given him one before, but he only licked it a couple times and then didn’t want to do any more until I left. Not today! Today he was all about it. Practically in my lap to get it. And then he wanted pets afterwards. He’s super sweet, too, and he doesn’t cause any problems with the other kitties, which I appreciate. Everyone’s getting along these days.

Anyway…I’m freaking wiped. Burned out by the end of the day. Couldn’t do the push to paint. Sigh. Sleeeeep.

Night night.
