Had a really, really wonderful Christmas today, thank you baby g. We got up at the butt crack to take care of the pups and then head over to the King’s so we could be there in time for Christmas morning…and then turned out to be there, like, an hour early, lol. Nobody was up yet. But, no matter—we walked Joy around the neighborhood and it was absolutely gorgeous out. By the time we got back to their house, Wolfie was up and let us into the house. Breakfast came soon after—the cutest heart waffles you’ve ever seen—and then presents, which were madness, exactly as we had hoped. The kids made out like BANDITS. Liz and I got some nice stuff, too, and Matt and Cat spoiled each other as well. Cat even offered to let us have one of her art pieces, which are genuinely spectacular.

Love that family. So much. Such good kids, and they really love us, too. Wolfie and me get along like gangbusters. Liz and Tilde are like same-same, and Mir is the OG. We both get to nerd out with her about music and books and whatnot. Joy and Sunny played. She’s curled up right now against Tommen, which is just the cutest. But that’s skipping ahead.

We came home and did our own presents with each other. Liz got me the COOLEST hoodie, a Wrath of Khan one in a vintage style, the pups got a ton of toys—like a TON of toys this year—and we got some awesome stuff from a bunch of friends as well. Then, we took a nap, and by ‘we’ I mean Tommen, Cooper and I. Liz wanted to make soup, so she did that, which was amazing, and Joy did come up and sleep with me for a little bit, but mostly she wanted to be out in the kitchen with Liz, watching and helping.

After I woke up and we ate some food, we went and checked out a couple cool houses with fun Christmas lights in the valley. One was a house we thought stopped doing them, but they’re back and better than ever! Quite the show. We took the pups with us and made hot cocoa to put in our mugs. It was very cozy.

Now, home…sleepy…looking forward to several, SEVERAL days off.

Night night.
