It’s windy outside like I don’t think I’ve ever seen in LA. We’ll get gusts up to 60mph+ tonight through to tomorrow morning, and they were so bad today that one of our neighbors had her car smashed by a fallen branch. Oof. It’s bad.
And randomly right now…it sounds suddenly silent out there. But it’s been like that all day today. Suddenly quiet. And then the winds rip back a minute or two later.
Big fire danger. There’s one raging out in the palisades. It’s surrounded the Getty Villa, but hasn’t burned it yet, apparently. Another fire over in Alta Dena that’s growing. Something like 30,000 people were evacuated today.
I’ll say this, though: our house is so solid! I didn’t even know it was windy out there with our curtains draw this morning until I went out with the pups to go potty. Not like my house growing up, which would shake in the wind, and I could feel it blow through all the cracks. Literally gusts in my face as I laid in bed. Not this house! Love that for us 🙂
Got stuff DONE today. Whew. That was good. Really good. It was almost a burnout day—I know it’s going to take time to get used to using this app and actually being more productive, and that will mean some burnout days for sure—but I rallied. It’s good. Almost a week into the year, and it’s good.
