Busy day! Man…it was definitely a day that could have gone sideways with all the stuff I had to do, some of it unexpected work-wise (which is great, actually, because I’ve been slow at work)…but I handled it. Got up on time and handled it.

Writing was good. Legit good. I’m making progress once again. Whew! It’s banging, too. Some gooooood stuff coming. Even some stuff for the next book.

Then, I went down to the Abbot Kinney area and had lunch with a family friend, Gordon Lundy. We drank Domaine Tempier, a favorite of Kermit Lynch—their ‘Lulu et Lucien’ cuvée, which I’d been wanting to try but hadn’t had the chance yet. Delicious. I can still taste it. Gordo was spot on with his first taste, saying that it would open up beautifully by the end of the meal, and it did. The fruitiness gave way to the velvety earthiness I love so much. I hope he liked it. Seemed like he did. It was a grand old time.

Pups are great. They were so patient for me to come home. The rain had stopped by that time—it poured all day today—so we got in a nice walk. Treats. Eye drops for the Coopey who is definitely starting to look better, thank lordy. He’s opening his eye again almost all the time after about a week now of pretty much keeping it shut from pain. Poor buuuuuddd.

Also, I hear the Warriors won. Woot! 3-1 since getting Jimmy Buckets. Would love for that to be 4-0, but I have a feeling if we’d won last night, we’d have lost tonight. That’s okay. I’ll take it. Small sample size, but we do seem to be a much better team now. Hope so.

Night night.
