One of my favorite things is to watch sports in the morning. Baseball in the morning, NFL, there’s something about waking up and having a game to watch that really energizes me. I love it. Lately, it’s been watching Wrexham in the morning that I love, and it’s early, too, 7am, which is oddly even better. Liz is still asleep, it’s that early, and I do the laundry, eat breakfast, and watch the game.
I did that this morning. They won. Thank lord. They were playing a team that’s really struggling of late, so in that way its not all that impressive, but at least they won. Their schedule for the rest of the season isn’t terrible. Some tough games, for sure, including games against the two teams on either side of them in standings, just above them and just below them…but otherwise, it is a lot of teams in the lower reaches of the table. I hope that means we make a nice strong push for that second place.
We hung out with Liz and Ali today. We love those two. Genuinely. Love hanging out with them. Just such good company. Smart, funny, gracious, down to earth, good people. We did an Indian buffet lunch together. So good.
Came home and conked out for a good ol nap. Then got up and watch the Warriors game, which had gone on while we were out. They won, too! 5-1 with Jimmy Buckets. And he hasn’t even been a major scoring force yet. Still getting up to speed, both with the team and just his own stamina. We’re a different team. Much more dangerous. Crazy what one player like that can do, a superstar. He’s just one of those dudes who can be the best player on the court when he turns it on. A player who can be unstoppable. I’ve seen it. Especially in the playoffs. The team is soooo excited to have him, too. Like, they are so jazzed. Draymond especially, I feel.
Now, sleep. Getting my ass up on time tomorrow and kicking this week off right.
Night night.
