Watched a great documentary film today called Somm: Cup of Salvation. I don’t think the title is all that great, now that I’ve typed it out, but the movie is—truly—phenomenal. I’ve seen the other Somm films and this one is BY FAR the best one. Like, another league of documentary film entirely. It’s intense! And emotional. And beautiful. Highly, highly, highly recommend.
Still sick. Still have a fever. This is day five, now, which definitely puts whatever this is in the category of not-just-a-cold. Flu? RSV? One of the two. Doesn’t feel like the flu, though. And I will say that the achiness has been pretty mild after those first two days. But, yeah. Not looking forward to the work week. I hope it’s chill, because I am definitely still under the weather. Sigh.
Warriors hit a wall today. They couldn’t find it against the Rockets, the highest seeded team they’ve played in a while. Steph got completely shut down. It was a close rock fight for a while, but we just didn’t have it in the end. You could feel it. Tired. Outmatched on the day. If we find ourselves in a series with them, it will not be easy. They have flaws, though! Their offense is highly suspect. It, too, can be shut down, as we did for most of the night. But their defense is very, very good. Young. Long. Tenacious. I’d still bet on the Warriors to figure it out against them, but it would not be easy.
Finished a book today. SciFi novel I’ve let go for far too long. It just…wasn’t very good, so I’d put off finishing it. Two stars. Out of Five. Not compelling. Took on some really important themes, for sure, but the measure of greatness is not what themes you elect to bring up in your writing, but how well you express them. Clumsy. Which is frustrating, because this book had won awards. I was expecting greatness.
Night night.
