What place in the world would I never want to visit?

Prison. Lol. That’s the first thing that came to mind. But it’s not the spirit of the question, I don’t think.

Mount Everest is the place that came next. If there was a gondola up there: sure. Hell yes I’d do it. But in this reality, with how insanely dangerous it is to go up there, no. I have absolutely no desire to ever visit there. I’m not dying climbing a fucking mountain. That makes no sense to me. For me. The people who do climb that kind of stuff? They fascinate me. But mostly because I’d never do it myself.

Beyond that, or maybe places like the Titanic wreck at the bottom of the sea—places that can kill you just by visiting them—…I’d go anywhere on the planet. There’s no country I wouldn’t visit. Some of them would have to get safer for me, a white American, to visit, sure, but I’d still love to go there if I would be welcomed. I’d even go to Antarctica. God, that would be so fascinating.

Bit of a helter skelter day, even though I didn’t actually leave home until after work to go pick up Coops from the animal hospital. He wasn’t a patient, that’s just where their internist is, and he needed to get some testing done to see if we can figure out why he lost control of his hind legs for a bit back a couple weeks ago. No news on that front. The labs will take until tomorrow at least to come back to us. He’s so happy to be home, though. He was starving—couldn’t eat breakfast in order to have all the blood tests done—really wanted to go on a walk, really wanted to lick my face for a good long while, and then really wanted to take a nap on one of his favorite blankets over in the corner of the living room. So good to have him home. Even Joy was happy to have him home.

Had a decent, if abbreviated, writing session in the morning. The opening scene is in good shape. Looking forward to getting back at it tomorrow. Genuinely. Not the getting up part, but once I am up, it’s wonderful. I love my writing sessions in the morning.

Work was busy today, actually, which added to the helter skelter-ness. I volunteered for some extra work, basically, so that’s getting going. Doesn’t seem like rocket science, though. We’ll see once I dive in.

Whacked some weeds out front. Needed to get that process started and it was really hard to go out there and actually do it, but I did. More to do on that front tomorrow, but I went today until the battery ran out, which was my goal. Gotta get that front yard fucking DONE. We have a couple weeks left to do it. Gotta go.

Night night.
