We watched the film Flow tonight. It was gorgeous, my god, and it was good, too. It was ambitious and thoughtful at the same time. It reminded me very much of Scavenger’s Reign in the way that it was far more meditative than it was narrative. I could feel very early on that it was working story-wise in the realm of metaphor rather than anything literal, and that’s always a fun place to be. We looked up what the director had to say about it after finishing it, and he confirmed it. It’s very much a visual representation of life. Its cycles of danger, opportunity, fear and excitement, the forces beyond our control that sweep us away at times, but also the friends we make along the way. C’est la vie, is what I think it had to say. It wasn’t necessarily profound in that way, neither Liz nor I ever found ourselves close to tears—it was, perhaps, a little too generalized and vague to really hit hard in that way—but it was beautiful and very well done. I liked it. I wholeheartedly recommend it. Plus, the hero is a cat. AND…it is truly, *truly* gorgeous.

I felt rather normal today! Tired, for sure…but pretty normal. I was able to go out and run some errands. Get all my work done. Then chill in the evening. Josh and I were going to podcast tonight, but both of us had been feeling under the weather lately, so we pushed again to next week. It’s going to be six weeks, I think, since we last podcasted. An eternity.

Time to read for a bit, then snooze. Some sports tomorrow, rest, and hanging out with Stephen and Thida. Night night!
