Is there a quote I live my life by or think of often?
Several, but the first one that comes to mind is: do less more often. Shout out to Dallas Travers for teaching me that one. I don’t think she does mindset and business coaching for actors anymore, but she used to, and that one really stuck with me. It’s truly—for me—the trick to sustained creativity. Before encountering that philosophy, I didn’t really think about how I went about being productive. I did it when I felt like it, which meant bursts, burnout, and then long periods of nothing. Such long periods of nothing. Years, sometimes. Which is why consistency, sustainable consistency has been such a war worth fighting. It makes all the difference. Like, the difference between books that are now written—books—and wishing that I could finish writing a book someday.

Got my writing done. Podcasted with Josh. We watched High Anxiety. So silly. So funny. And very clever of a send-up, which Mel Brooks always seems to do. We all really enjoyed it. Liz watched, too, and she used to watch that movie all the time when she was a kid. Good taste, that young lady.
Now…sleep. So tired. Oh, and Happy Birthday to Liz. It’s tomorrow. Or…in a few minutes.
