I think we’ve lost one of our kitties. Nobody has seen Nugget now for a week. A week tomorrow, I think. She’s never been away this long, and that makes me very sad. She’s a “community” kitty, meaning a stray, but she wasn’t exactly feral. Or, at least, she’d made strides. I’ve been able to pet her while feeding her for about a year now, and she had the loudest purr and the tiniest little body underneath all her fluff. Mother to Chloe, sister to Bingo, she was a gray ragdoll. The sweetest meow. She’d always take the oddest routes to stay a ‘safe’ distance away from me, often walking towards me at first so she could slip past, but even then, it was usually towards the courtyard which is closed in on three sides. Silly baby. She was also one of the glue kitties, someone everybody loved. She had no enemies. And she loved the poof. She slept on top of it in the cool mornings, waiting for breakfast time.

I love you, Nugget. I hope you come back to me, but if you don’t, I’ll never forget you. You’re one of the OG Marlin kitties. Rest in peace, mama.
