It’s funny. I got The Night Agent and The Night Manager mixed up completely. Lol. They are not remotely the same thing. Though both are, apparently, going to get a season 3.
I finished The Spy Who Came In From The Cold yesterday. It was really, really, really good. The dude’s third novel. And he was actually still working for MI6 at the time, running agents and operations. Pretty wild. I think just how good of a writer he was (is, but I mean all the way back then) is the most remarkable thing. Just because you’ve lived the life experience doesn’t meant you’d be good at writing about it. That’s a very rare skill. I loved the book. Concise. Poetic. Nails the central mystery. I didn’t exactly fall in love with any of the characters, but their circumstances were enough to get me through enthralled. A worthy classic.
Liz is out of town. Sigh. Just me and the pups. And my book. Need to bang on with it.
