A proper day off today. Whew. I needed it. I even got some work done out in the front yard. The hole is finally large enough for the entire parking space. Now, I have to level it, making sure it’s a consistent 4 inches deep everywhere. Then, I put down weed barrier and screw together the border. And then: it’s just the gravel. Get that delivered, compacted, and then the nice gravel on top and presto prango…I finally have a proper parking space. It will be soooooo nice. Can’t wait. Still lots of work to go, though. Sigh. I used a pickaxe today to finish digging out the last bit. It was the right tool for the job, finally, but holy crap was it tiring to swing that thing over and over again for a couple hours. Wiped me out.
Took a nice long nap, though. Got the last two pages done I needed to for a perfect week. Sent all the new ones off to Craig for a read-through and edit. Filled out my time card. Finished reading Henry VI: Part 1. It’s onto Richard III now! Looking forward to that one. It’s been a while, actually since reading a play with an iconic line in it, and Richard starts off immediately with “Now is the winter of our discontent…” (“made glorious summer by this son of York.”). Good stuff. Can’t wait.
Oh, and I pulled the trigger one some hard drives! Newegg was running a sale and the drives I want were some of the ones they were offering. Like, really good deal for them. So I just did it. They were slightly smaller than the ones I’d originally been looking at, but no matter. The enclosure I’ll put them in will eventually get upgraded with larger drives anyway. No big deal. I haven’t bought that yet, so the drives will sit for a little while unopened. Waiting for a sale on the enclosure. Might be a few months. We’ll see. But…our storage problems will soon be behind us. Whew!
Night night.
