The My Chemical Romance show is pretty spectacular. Might be the most impressive concert I’ve ever been to, at least in terms of storytelling and theatricality. I was really, really impressed. And their music is also just so good for live performance. Very glad we went!
I got my writing done today. Whew. I’m at 420 pages. Probably another…50? 60? Something like that. We’re to the point where all the shit is going down. Final showdown. Full beans. So close to being done. And this is right around the time I’d set once I started writing, which is kind of wild given I dilly-dallied around with almost half that time. But I pulled my shit together to get here. Really pushed. Takes a lot out of me, for sure.
I’m restless at the moment, artistically. Not in a bad way, quite the opposite: inspired to push harder. Do more. Do different. Grow. Get better. Full beans.
That’s my new favorite phrase, by the way, lol: “full beans.” In motor racing, specifically British motor racing, it means “full out,” or in more American vernacular “pedal to the metal.” But I like full beans. What a perfect phrase.
Pups missed us. Joy, in particular, is just a maniac at the moment. She was humping her bed, running around, licking my face so hard it was making my head bump up against the headboard behind me, digging in the blankets…just being a maniac. She has all this energy because we were out late, you know? Dogs save it all for us when we get home. We’re their entire world. And they’re ours.
Whew. I’m wiped. It was a good day, though. I was worried about how much this weekend was going to exhaust me, doing these two things, going out yesterday with my fellow authors and then doing the concert tonight. But I’m good. Gonna take the day off tomorrow in terms of writing, and then back at it, baby. Get it across the finish line!
Night night.
