Do you remember The Brave Little Toaster? It’s so hard to find these days. The first one, at least, which is the only one I’ve ever seen. It has an interesting story—it was developed in part by Jon Lasseter before the Pixar days, and animated by a bunch of future Pixar animators when they were all just recent Cal Arts graduates. Super indie film. Wasn’t successful in theaters, but became very successful on VHS, which is definitely how I saw it.

Anyway…I put it on tonight. I’ve wanted to watch it again for years, but like I said, it’s super hard to find. That movie is dark, y’all. What an odd time in kids’ movies that was, that period from the mid/late 70s through the 80s. Fascinating, though. But dark.

Got the manuscript off to our editor today. That felt amazing. I’m going to take a very brief break and then dive right back into writing. I have a novella to get finished by around release time. Wish me luck! I also have a front yard to finish.

Night night.
