It was a very productive day today. I did several things I’d been putting off and/or I knew was going to take it out of me energy-wise.
We had some credit cards we no longer were using that I needed to call and finally cancel before their annual fees ticked over again. I’ve been meaning to do that for quite some time. Quite. Some. Time. I’ll go ahead and say it: Southwest cards. We’re not flying Southwest anymore. I got burned last time I used them, and then Liz got burned even worse just a couple weeks ago. Couldn’t even get her out to Vegas. She spent all day at the airport and didn’t even go anywhere. Insanity. We’ve flown Southwest for, like, twenty years. They were always the best, easiest, cheapest way to get around. Not anymore. Such a bummer.
I also dug out the area for the front step. Holy crap that was a ‘lift.’ It was all dirt mixed with gravel, which meant using the pick axe. Sweated my balls off, but I got it dug out, and then filled back in with some fresh gravel in the evening and set the step out. I haven’t secured and finished that last bit, just because I want to keep the option open to return the steps if we don’t like them. I think they’re going to work, though. We’ll see.
I also loaded all my remaining tasks before the party into my Omnifocus app…I still need to schedule them all out, but at the very least they’re all in there, and I have my next couple days kinda generally mapped out. I do need to go through and do ALL of them, however, because I need to figure out how much (or little) time I really do have. I have this week and this coming weekend. I know that. That’s about it. We’ll see how much I can get done in that time. Already, I’m very happy with what’s been done. Proud of myself. The big thing will be getting someone hired to clean up the front yard, though. That’s the biggest outstanding task. Wish me luck.
