I’m getting there.

The floors are finally almost done. Who knew it would take a fracking WEEK to do them? Not I. I figured a few days. Yikes. But, BUT…they are spectacular. Like new. So clean. So. Clean. They feel like magic on your feet.

And the backyard. It’s…so…nice. Soon, the front yard will match. Tomorrow, I put down the weed barrier that will mean, finally, after FOUR YEARS of fighting them, there will be no more weeds. My god, what a time to be alive.

Our house is feeling really, reeaaalllyyy nice to me tonight. Like, we have a really nice house. A house that I can’t wait to share. That’s the point of all this, I guess. That’s what I was aiming towards. Being excited to share with my family and friends this place where we live. Not an easy task. Not a light one. But here I am, feeling proud and excited. What a wonderful thing.

The last bit of the floors tomorrow, a few odd fixes around the house, weed barrier and some pavers from Home Depot…and that should be a day’s work, I think. Scott, Addie and Cal come in at the end of the day. It will be dinner with them, Cal to bed, and then we can chill. The day together on Friday, and then party prep and party on Saturday. Whew! Should be action packed. I am gonna crash next week, let me tell you. Big. Time.

Our guest room is so nice. The only thing it’s missing is great WiFi. I need to get ONE MORE satellite for our house. It would go in here. Maybe I’ll treat myself to one for my birthday. But, this room is so nice. A little wardrobe in here, maybe? With a mirror on top of it for Liz’s auditions? And some additions to the murphy bed, like little pouches with charging cables, and a light up above…that will be fun one of these days to get all dialed in. One of these days.

Work was less busy today, thank goodness. I was WIPED. In fact, it’s bed time. I’m back up at 5am to give the Coopey his drops. So, yeah. Night night.
